Cricket was allowed to return from Saturday 11th July, and with the league due to start from the weekend after Leek CC hosted an in-house friendly to get prepared for the new season.
After months of waiting, we were finally able to play cricket again on Saturday 11th July. Following the ECB and Government announcements, clubs got prepared for a quick return to league cricket. However, the NSSCL league were already preparing for a Saturday 18th July restart.
This meant that we were looking for a friendly on the first available weekend. We decided to have an in-house friendly off 40 overs a side, with mixed teams from the 1st and 2nd XI to make sure everyone had the opportunity to bat and bowl in preparation for a league restart the following weekend.
Club Member Darren Woodcock was on hand at the weekend taking photos with his new camera. He's kindly provided them to us, so here is a selection of the photos taken on the day.
We hope to see many of you at Highfield this weekend. We hope to have the hut open to sell beer, soft drinks and snacks - if you would like to volunteer to man the hut at any fixtures in the next 11 weeks, get in touch with us via our contact page on the website.
